Give a Helping Hand to Those who Need It
A School in Uganda
Friends of Amoru is a US 501 (c) 3 that is financing the building and operation of Amoru International Secondary School in Kaberamaido District, Uganda.
Our Mission is to educate youth toward a healthy, productive and peaceful life through the development of curiosity and integrity.
There is a huge gap between the number of eligible students and available secondary schools in that district. Six thousand children pass the exiting exam and are ready for secondary or vocational education. The present school system can only absorb 3,000.
Friends of Amoru plans to lessen that gap by providing for a new secondary school. This school will follow the national curriculum which emphasizes math and science. Eighty students will be accepted each year. They will experience intensive computer training as well as the national curriculum. Within five years, the school will have 380 students.
