Peter Ekadu: Success Story

Peter Ekadu is an orphan from Kaberamaido District, Uganda, where he attended primary school. At the end of primary, he received a very high score on the national exit examination which allowed him to continue his education. At that time, however, there was no universal secondary education law in Uganda, so Peter would have to attend a private school which, of course, required tuition. Luckily he received financial support from several Americans. Then he graduated from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, where he majored in economics. After working for two years in the private sector, Peter received a scholarship from Rotary International that paid all his expenses to gain a Masters in Health Services Administration and Human Resources Administration at Central Michigan University. He graduated in 2015. Since then, he has been gaining experience by working for the University of Minnesota and is currently working for Nobles County Community Services. Mr. Ekadu is a perfect example of what proper preparation can do when an opportunity presents itself.
